About me

An introduction
Born in Somerset, England in 1962, I have been interested in photography since the early 70's.

Initially I was influenced by my father and elder brother and started with an Olympus OM20 with a 28-85 Sigma zoom lens. I was very keen and would record the camera settings for each photograph in an effort to understand how to take the best pictures.

The late 80's saw the start of a 10 year hiatus from photography as I found other things to be interested in.

Around the tail end of the 90's I started back on the photographic strand with the purchase of one of the latest compact 35mm cameras, only to lose it when my luggage was removed by mistake at Heathrow Airport. The insurance money bought me my first digital camera, a Canon Ixus 2. I was hooked straight away. Being able to take pictures and see them right away was fantastic (now taken for granted). My strong interest in 3d photography resulted in me buying a second Ixus (an Ixus 3) and, when the first one died, yet another Ixus was added to the collection.

Missing the adaptability of the 35mm SLR's I decided to take the plunge and purchased a digital SLR in the form of a Canon 20D, with the addition of 18-55 and a 70-300 zoom lenses. Since then I haven't stopped taking photographs.

Around the same time as buying the Digital SLR I bought an Apple Mac G5, so that I could work on the photographs professionally and use them to their full potential.

Eventually I arrived here, with my photos on a website.
